X-Men (2000)
The 2000 released movie X-Men, the
story of mutants, which shows the struggle of mutants to live in the society of
human. Mutants are the people who have special gifts or power.
Magneto, the main antagonist who
choose the path of violence to show mutants are also human and they should have
equal right to live in a society together and society should accept them, not
by hiding their abilities.
The protagonists are Professor
Charles, Wolverine, Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, etc. Professor Xavier manages a
school for children with special gifts. He chooses the path of good people. He
helps mutant children to control power. He has the power to read and control
the mind of other people.
Senator Robert Kelly demand to pass
‘Mutant Registration Act’ in Congress. The act force mutant to reveal their
abilities. Senator sounds like he also hates mutant as well.
Magneto what to make Senator Robert
Kelly, a mutant so he kidnaps him and makes him one by using a machine which throws mutant
radiation. But he soon dies. Magneto does not know the machine kills the new mutant.
He attempts to turn the world leader into a mutant who gather for UN Summit nearby
Ellis Island.
But the protagonist, the X-Men stop
him. Although Magneto is a good person, he always uses a bad way. He always
has the intention to bring acceptance of mutants in society.
The human is always afraid of
their power and mutants are hated. They are compelled to live hiding their
power. The government is not so kind for mutants. They think they are a threat
to society. They are dangerous creatures.
But they are just human, they also
have feelings as a normal human. There is always a conflict between humans and the
mutants. Both Professor and Magneto want harmony between humans and mutants by
they choose a different path.
The X-Men series presents the struggle of mutants to live with the human for acceptance of mutants and different adventure
and thriller.
